Adrian Skehill is the CEO of Calom Technologies, a software development company based in the National College of Ireland Business Incubation Centre in Dublin’s IFSC. Calom Technologies produces software that integrates Internet media content, live TV streams & social networks and delivers this using an online website optimised for televisions (http://ipic.tv).
Skehill holds an honours degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Limerick and an MSc from DCU. He has over 15 years industry experience working in engineering, software development and project management. Prior to forming Calom in 2008, Skehill worked for IONA Technologies, where he built and lead the User Interface tooling group. He also spent five years with Motorola Ireland automating their production processes and providing out-of-hours support to the manufacturing facility. In addition to managing Calom Technologies, Skehill currently lectures in software engineering and distributed systems at National College of Ireland.
Skehill believes that with the increasing capacity of our internet connections, we are now able to get more of our media on demand. Calom Technologies’ software, which was officially launched in August 2009, can help broadband providers develop new TV packages which they can then supply to their subscribers.
Calom Technologies recently won the Dublin Emerging Company category of this year’s Intertrade Ireland Seedcorn Competition. The company was also nominated for the ISA’s Best Emerging Business Award 2009.
